Your data, handled honestly

Privacy Policy

MadeByHeris a marketplace connecting buyers with women-led small businesses across India. This page explains exactly what information we collect, why, and how it's protected. We do not offer any product or service under this Platform outside India, and your personal data is primarily stored and processed in India. By using MadeByHer, you agree to be governed by the laws of India, including those applicable to data protection and privacy.

Information we collect

  • Mobile number — used to sign you in via a WhatsApp one-time code, and to contact you about your order
  • Name and delivery address(es) — needed to ship your order to the right place
  • Order history — what you've bought, so you can track it and request returns
  • Payment details — handled entirely by our payment gateway partner; we never see or store your card, UPI PIN, or bank credentials
  • Approximate location — only if you choose to use "detect my location" while adding an address; never collected in the background

How we use it

Your information is used only to process and deliver your orders, send order updates, verify your identity at login, handle returns/refunds, and improve the marketplace. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

Who we share it with

  • The seller fulfilling your order — your name, phone, and delivery address, so she can pack and ship it
  • Our payment gateway partner — for processing online payments and refunds
  • Our shipping partner — to generate courier labels and deliver your parcel
  • Meta (WhatsApp Business API) — to send your login code and order notifications
  • Cloudinary — hosts product and seller photos; no personal data beyond images

We never share your data with sellers you haven't ordered from, or with any third party for marketing purposes.

How we protect it

Your session is secured with an encrypted, httpOnly cookie that can't be read by scripts on the page. Login is passwordless — we never ask for or store a password, removing an entire category of risk. All connections to www.madebyher.in are encrypted (HTTPS).

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in and one to remember your shopping bag between visits. Neither is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Your rights

You can view your order history and saved addresses anytime from My Account, remove a saved address yourself, or message us on WhatsApp to request full deletion of your account and personal data (subject to what we're legally required to retain for tax/order records). By using MadeByHeror providing your information, you consent to our collecting, using, and sharing it as described in this policy. You may withdraw that consent at any time by writing to our Grievance Officer below — withdrawal isn't retrospective, and we may need to restrict some services if the data withdrawn was necessary to provide them.
